WASHINGTON, DC, March 7, 2018 – More than 50 executives from the Railway Supply Institute (RSI) and its member companies are participating in the annual Railroad Day on Capitol Hill event this week, joining hundreds of rail industry advocates from across the nation to share with Congress a unified vision for the railway industry. RSI is a sponsor of the event, which is hosted by the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association.
“The significant presence of railway supply companies and RSI members at Railroad Day underscores the major impact that our industry has on the North American economy and the approximately 100,000 jobs that rail suppliers provide across the U.S.,” said Mike O’Malley, President of RSI. “Rail supply companies are a vital component of the U.S. rail industry. Bringing the rail supply industry message to policymakers on Capitol Hill reinforces our crucial role in the health of heartland communities in 44 states and hundreds of congressional districts.
“RSI and its members represent innovative solutions that help railroads find better ways to move goods across North America,” O’Malley stated.
