Washington, D.C., October 16, 2020—The Railway Supply Institute announced today that it had elected Tricia Charles, Jeff Lytle, and Harrison Wadsworth to its board of directors for a three-year term beginning on January 1, 2021.
“The diverse backgrounds that these new directors bring to RSI will help strengthen our ability to serve the needs of railway suppliers across different sectors of the industry,” said Jason Connell, President of Knorr Brake Company and Chairman of the RSI Board of Directors.
Tricia Charles currently serves as General Counsel for Union Tank Car Company and Marmon Holdings, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. Her experience includes over 20 years as a litigation attorney working on commercial matters for both public and private clients. Before joining Marmon Holdings, she served as an in-house attorney for The Boeing Company.
Jeff Lyle is President of CIT Rail and has over 22 years of experience in railcar leasing. Prior to joining CIT, he served as senior vice president of sales for GE Rail for nearly a decade. CIT Rail maintains a diversified railcar and locomotive fleet with offices across North America.
Harrison Wadsworth currently serves as the Director of Government Affairs for Siemens Corporation, where he represents the mobility side of the business. Wadsworth has extensive industry experience working on Capitol Hill and later serving as manager of congressional affairs for the Association of American Railroads. Wadsworth was previously appointed to the RSI Board of Directors in 2019 to fill a vacancy left Siemens Mobility President & CEO John Paljug following his retirement.
The board changes come as RSI’s Vice President of Government & Public Affairs Nicole Brewin was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao to serve on the department’s Rail Safety Advisory Committee (RSAC), a committee established by the Federal Railroad Administration that seeks to bring rail industry leaders together to develop and provide input on regulatory solutions to address rail safety issues.
On the appointment, Brewin said, “Promoting rail safety has long-been a priority of the railway supply industry and I look forward to working with my colleagues from across the industry to advise and provide recommendations to the FRA as it looks to continue improving rail safety wherever possible.”
