Bigger Trucks Harm the Rail Supply Industry

WASHINGTON, DC – January 31, 2012. The House of Representative’s  Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is scheduled to mark up legislation that would harm the rail industry by increasing truck sizes and weights. This legislation would allow 20% heavier trucks on our roads – even allowing triple trailer trucks. 97,000 pound trucks speeding down our highways will tear up our roads and cost taxpayers even more in road and bridge repair.
